§ Mr. CarlisleThere has been close consultation with the Prison Officers' Association from the outset and my right hon. Friend is receiving their full cooperation. Half the members of the team are prison officers.
§ Mr. Thomas Coxasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will give details of the duties undertaken by the four regional offices which have replaced the Prison Commissioners, the siting of these offices, and the communication structure between these offices and the Prison Officers' Association.
§ Mr. CarlisleThe locations and functions of the regional offices are set out in paragraphs 16–24 of the Report on the Work of the Prison Department 1969 (Cmnd. 4486). These offices have contacts with local branches of the Prison Officers' Association. Communication with the Association's National Executive is through headquarters.
