HC Deb 12 March 1971 vol 813 cc192-3W
Mr. Elysian Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what safeguards he will give to British farmers against the dumping of cheap milk products from foreign countries.

Mr. Anthony Grant

The Department of Trade and Industry is always ready to consider promptly applications for the imposition of anti-dumping duties which are supported by prima facie evidence that the products concerned are being dumped within the meaning of the Customs Duties (Dumping & Subsidies) Act, 1969, and are causing or threatening material injury to the British producers of like goods. For this purpose, dumping normally means sales for export at prices lower than those of comparable sales in the supplier's home market.
