§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what machinery will be used to adjust the level of import levies so that farmers may be able to recoup their cost increases from the market.
§ Mr. PriorThe proposed interim levy schemes, while increasing the stability of the market, will not lead to the discontinuance of the present system of deficiency payments. Under a comprehensive system of levies, the Government would have to take all the relevant factors into account in determining appropriate levels of minimum import prices.
