asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether any significant results have so far been achieved in drilling for minerals in Cardigan Bay.

Drilling in Tremadoc Bay, in the Northern part of Cardigan Bay, by the Institute of Geological Sciences has proved the presence of sedimentary rocks which under favourable conditions might be of potential importance as hydrocarbon reservoir rocks.
