HC Deb 10 March 1971 vol 813 c125W
Mr. Spearing

asked the Minister of Aviation Supply what is his estimate of the number of persons likely to be employed in the production of Concorde, in volume; how many of these currently employed in Concorde development work are likely to be involved in its production and what employment prospects there are for these persons who will not be concerned in production work.

Mr. David Price

On the basis of the present programme, a maximum of about 35,000 people are expected to be employed in the United Kingdom on the production of Concorde. This would include the great majority of those at present employed on development. The future employment of those not required for Concorde production will depend primarily on the future programme of design work at the firms concerned.
