HC Deb 08 March 1971 vol 813 cc8-9W
63. Mr. J. P. W. Mallalieu

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry to what extent the affairs of the International Investors Group have been investigated by his Department; what report he has received on this matter and what action he has taken.

Mr. Ridley

Some inquiries have been made. The group appears no longer to be active in this country.

64. Mr. J. P. W. Mallalieu

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what steps he is taking in connection with the recent winding-up of International Investors Group (Sales) to protect the interests of the creditors whose salary and commission cheques from the firm have been dishonoured.

Mr. Ridley

I think that the hon. Member has in mind I.I.G. (London) Services Ltd. which is being compulsorily wound up. The Official Receiver and liquidator will take all possible steps to protect the interests of the creditors.
