§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what new controls he is considering on aerial spraying in view of the proven damage to various forms of animal life.
§ Mr. NobleThe Department, with the co-operation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, is formulating proposals whereby aerial spraying will require its permission, which will be subject to conditions. An agricultural aerial operator will be permitted to spray only those chemicals specified as being suitable for aerial application. Those chemicals will have been cleared under 551W the Government's Pesticide Safety Precaution Scheme. The conditions will include other specified precautions.
