HC Deb 04 March 1971 vol 812 cc521-2W
Mr. Prescott

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many grants have been given under the Local Employment Act, 1970, for derelict land clearance in the Hull employment exchange area.

Mr. Graham Page

One reclamation scheme estimated to cost £59,000 submitted by Kingston-upon-Hull City Council was approved for grant under the Local Government Act, 1966, in March, 1970, and is shortly to be reapproved for the higher rate of grant (75 per cent.) available under the Local Employment Act,1970. Grant will become payable when reclamation work commences. Five outline projects submitted by the city council and estimated to cost £190,000 have been accepted by the Department and detailed schemes are awaited.
