§ Mr. RidleyThe Service was set up in 1968 to assist users to specify requirements and locate suitable sources of supply for the less common types of glass. It has been used mainly by firms in the optical instrument and electronics industries and by Government Departments. In the 2½ years since its inception it has dealt with approximately 200 inquiries.
