§ Mr. Muddasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will give an assurance that there will he no withdrawal, curtailment or regrouping of maternity and casualty services in West Cornwall pending the announcement date of the implementation of the final development stage of the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske, Truro.
§ Mr. AlisonNo, but I can give an assurance that no controversial proposal for a significant cessation of or change in maternity or casualty services in the area will be implemented unless proper local consultations have been undertaken on the proposal, and on the alternative arrangements envisaged in it.
