Meyerasked the Secretary of State for Employment what action he proposes to take to provide employment for employees in the Rhyl area of the Wales Gas Board who are approaching retirement age and who are threatened with unemployment as a result of the reorganisation of the Wales Gas Board and the closure of the Rhyl office.
§ Mr. Dudley SmithDiscussions between the management and the unions are still in progress, but arrangements will be made for giving every possible assistance by my Department to any employees who may become redundant as a result of this reorganisation.
