§ Sir A. Meyerasked the Secretary of State for Wales what proposals he has for extending the new development plan system under the Planning Act, 1968 to local planning authorities in Wales.
§ Mr. Peter ThomasGlamorgan and Monmouthshire County Councils and Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Merthyr348W County Borough Councils have already been invited to prepare structure plans. I intend making a Commencement Order under the Town and Country Planning Act, 1968, formalising the position of these councils as structure plan authorities. I have asked officials of my Department to begin talks with the other local planning authorities in Wales with a view to the progressive implementation of a structure plan programme.
