§ Mr. Peter WalkerI will continue to encourage the improvement of derelict land. Informal consultations with interested bodies on the disposal of disused railway lines in the countryside have shown general agreement on a procedure 83W under which local planning authorities decide what is the best use of the land in the public interest. I expect to get agreement shortly on a circular to local authorities.
