§ Mr. Patrick JenkinThere was a useful discussion about value-added tax at the N.E.D.C. meeting last week when the T.U.C representatives made their views clear. My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer reaffirmed the Government's intention that food, apart perhaps from certain items at present charged to purchase tax, would be relieved of value-added tax.
