§ 39. Mr. Deakinsasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what recent advice he has received from the Confederation of British Industry about the future pattern of industrial investment by United Kingdom manufacturers in the event of United Kingdom membership of the European Economic Community.
§ Mr. NobleThe C.B.I. are currently consulting their members about the entry terms set out in the White Paper. At a meeting of their Council on 15th July an overwhelming majority expressed the opinion that the terms were acceptable to industry and that entry would be favourable for growth, investment and employment.
