§ Mr. AmeryThe only information available is in the Sample Census 1966 (Housing Tables Part I. Table 19, p. 196), which shows that 4 million private cars were normally kept in garages or car ports within the grounds of dwellings in England and Wales, a proportion of 27 per 100 dwellings.
