HL Deb 27 July 1971 vol 323 cc396-7WA
LORD CLITHEROE

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many times did aeroplanes fly over the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, and on how many occasions were they below the permitted height.

LORD DRUMALBYN

Records of aircraft movements over particular boroughs are not maintained. However, during the period from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 105 aircraft landed at Heathrow. The Borough would have been overflown by most of the 94 aircraft which landed on Runway 28R and by some of the 11 aircraft landings on Runway 28L. No aircraft were authorised by Air Traffic Control to descend below the permitted height, and such records as are kept do not indicate that any did so.
