§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate was made, prior to February, 1971, of the number of decimal coins required in the United Kingdom; and what number has been produced.
§ Mr. HigginsIt was estimated prior to 15th February, 1971, that 3,500 million United Kingdom decimal bronze coins might be needed during the early part of the transition. To date 3,700 million have been produced, of which 3,494 million had been struck by 15th February, 1971.
