§ Mr. van StraubenzeeThe Department does not make regional forecasts of school leavers on a regular basis ; but if the pattern in the North West Region follows that of previous years, an estimated number of 56,000 pupils will leave school for employment at the end of the summer term. Careers Officers of the Youth Employment Service give guidance to school leavers which reflects their individual needs and educational and employment opportunities.
