§ Mr. Bishopasked the Minister of State for Defence if he is aware of the concern of British Service men having to live a considerable distance from their bases in Germany ; and if he will provide suitable accommodation nearer bases and ensure that standards of furniture and equipment in married quarters are improved soon.
§ Mr. Lambton: My noble Friend referred on 8th June, in the debate on the Armed Forces, to the present shortage of married accommodation in Germany and the steps we are taking to overcome it.
I am unaware of any recent complaint about the standards of furniture and equipment in married quarters. These standards are however kept under review.—[Vol. 818, c. 893–4.]
