§ Miss Devlinasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the Chief Constable as to whether, following arms amnesties during recent years, an internal police investigation or other investigation was initiated to discover whether firearms surrendered under amnesty terms had been sold to a gun dealer in Huddersfield, and when such investigations commenced ; for how long these continued ; and whether any policemen or gun dealers were prosecuted, or are to be prosecuted, as a result.
§ Mr. SharplesFollowing investigations by the West Yorkshire Constabulary in 1969, a police officer was in that year convicted of theft of a number of weapons, some of which had been surrendered during the amnesty the previous year, and a registered firearms dealer, whose premises were not in Huddersfield, was convicted of receiving.
