§ 51. Sir R. Turtonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what as been the increase in the prices of 53W compound fertilisers, and nitrogen fertilisers, respectively, during the last 12 months ; and what representations he has made to fertiliser manufacturers.
§ Mr. Anthony StodartIn both cases the gross price was 11 per cent. higher in the first quarter of this year than in the corresponding period in 1970. Later comparisons are not yet available, but a further 7½ per cent. increase in manufacturers' list prices took effect on 1st June, 1971. The Government were given prior notice of the proposed increases, and no representations were made to the manufacturers concerned.
