§ Mr. Adam Butlerasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is the current annual rate of consumption of coal by Electricity Board power stations, and how this compares with the rate 12 months ago.
§ Mr. RidleyTotal coal consumption by power stations in the first half of 1971 was 37.8 million tons compared with 41.1 million tons in the corresponding period of last year. One about 1 per cent. of these totals was accounted for by power stations which are not producing electricity for public supply.
