§ Mrs. ThatcherA survey is being made of shortages of teachers with particular qualifications. My Department among other things conducts regular advertising campaigns and ensures that adequate facilities are available for mathematicians and scientists willing to undertake training. It has been in contact with industry about ways of encouraging the flow into teaching of mathematicians and scientists who may become redundant.
