§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations have been received from Asian Commonwealth countries about the effect on them of United Kingdom membership of the European Economic Community.
§ Mr. RipponThroughout the negotiations we have been in close touch with the Governments of Asian Commonwealth countries, and there have been continual exchanges of views between us. These were taken into account when we reached agreement with the Community on measures to protect their interests. Close consultation between Her Majesty's Government and the Government of Asian Commonwealth countries will continue.
