§ Mr. Alec Jonesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will conduct an investigation into the use of rubber or plastic foam in furniture in view of the fire hazards such materials present.
§ Mr. SharplesOn present information my right hon. Friend is not persuaded that such hazards in the home are so serious as to call for a special investigation. But the matter is one which he keeps under review, especially in the light of relevant research undertaken by the manufacturers and others.
