§ Mr. Tom McMillanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has now had from local authorities about the cessation of milk to children over seven years old in primary schools; how many persons have written to him; what replies he has sent, and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellI have had written representations from the counties of Ayr, Banff, Midlothian, Peebles, Ross and Cromarty and Sutherland, and Glasgow Corporation is to discuss the matter with my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Health and Education on 7th July. I have also received representations from 19 bodies or individuals. All the representations have been acknowledged and the views expressed noted. They have not persuaded me that there is any case for departing from the Government's decision announced last October in the White Paper "New Policies for Public Spending" and now being implemented through the Education (Milk) Bill.
