Mr. David Steelasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for reports from Chief Constables as to their proposals for conducting police investigations into the possible failure of certain doctors to notify abortion operations, as required by regulations under the Abortion Act, 1967, in such a way as to respect the privacy and confidentiality of the patients concerned.
