The I.L.E.A. have submitted a list of 157 schools built before 1903 which, in their view, are those most urgently in need of replacement or improvement. My right hon. Friend's policy is to secure the replacement or modernisation of 19th century primary schools as fast as resources allow; and she has approved the replacement of all 12 primary schools in London proposed by the Authority for the 1972–73 programme.
