§ Mr. Longdenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will reconsider his intention to use 4, St. James's Square for additional courts of law, in view of its current use for literary and artistic meetings; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. AmeryNo. The temporary use of this building for courts is an essential part of the Government's emergency programme to reduce delays in the administration of justice in London. It will cease as soon as other premises can be found and in any case by 1st April, 1974. In the meantime I am considering an appropriate long-term use for the building.
