§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, in view of the fact that the petrol companies have increased petrol prices three times in a year and are considering a fourth increase and his Department have issued a direction to the fuel supply industries under the nationalised boards to limit any of their increases to 12½ per cent. in the coming year, he will give the reasons why he will not agree to initiate an inquiry to investigate whether these continual price increases in petrol are justified.
