§ Mr. HigginsSpecial Drawing Rights totalling 3,414 million were allocated in 1970 and 2,949 million in 1971 (1 SRD=1 U.S.$ equivalent). The United Kingdom's share was SDR 409.9 million in 1970 and SDR 299.6 million in 1971. At the 1969 Annual Meeting the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund approved a proposal to allocate amounts of SDR 9,500 million during a first basic period of three years. The 1972 allocation would, therefore, total about SDR 3,000 million.
