§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will list the factors which will be taken into account when reviewing retirement pensions; and whether these will include the increases made in pensions of civil servants, judges, police, and other public servants, and the salary increases of 62 per cent. made in the last two years to the higher-paid civil servants, judges and chairmen of the nationalised boards.
§ Mr. DeanWe are pledged to review retirement pensions every two years to ensure that they at least maintain their purchasing power and that pensioners' living standards are properly protected.
