§ Mr. SharplesThe Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis tells me that inquiries are being pursued but have not yet brought any success. The fitting of good locks on doors and secure fastenings on windows would help to increase protection against offences of this kind. The police devote considerable effort to publicising these and other measures for preventing crime.
