§ Mr. Boscawenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, in view of the Government's intention to extend the derating of agricultural buildings, he will make a statement on the levying of rates upon buildings used for agricultural purposes pending the necessary legislation.
§ Mr. Graham PageLegislation has been introduced which it is hoped will take effect for the next rating year, which begins in England and Wales on 1st April, 1971. Until then the existing law governs the rating of agricultural buildings, the collection of rates in respect thereof and the kind of buildings exempt therefrom.
