§ Mr. van StraubenzeeFigures about school building are collected on a quarterly basis. In the first three quarters of 1970 270, 164 and 122 new schools excluding special schools, were started in England and Wales and 60, 186 and 220 were completed. Figures for the fourth quarter are not yet available. Expenditure on education is recorded only by financial years.
