§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will give, for each of the calendar months in 1970, the rise or fall in either cash figures if available, or percentages, of the cost of government, taking account of all costs including Ministerial salaries and goods and services supplied.
§ Mr. Maurice MacmillanMonthly figures of expenditure by the central Government are not available but figures for the first two quarters of 1970 can be found in Tables 16 and 17 of Financial Statistics No. 104, December, 1970. The third quarter figure will be published in the next issue of Financial Statistics due on 27th January, 1971. Similar information for the whole of the public sector appears in Tables 11 and 12 of that publication.
