HC Deb 13 January 1971 vol 809 c65W
Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that the loss of jobs in Glenrothes and in other parts of Scotland has accelerated in the last six months; and what steps he has taken to arrest this trend.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

I am aware that when we took office we found the economy in a state of stagnation as the result of which an increase in redundancies was inevitable. Our general economic policy and new investment incentives aim to remedy this.

I am to open a new computer plant in Glenrothes in two weeks' time.
