HL Deb 12 January 1971 vol 314 c85WA
LORD BARNBY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will now recommend to the G.L.C. the urgency of assisting travel to and from the London Airport (Heathrow) by constructing a flyover at the conjunction of Lower Cromwell Road and Warwick Road.

LORD SANDFORD

No. The Greater London Council, who are the responsible highway authority, do not consider such a flyover justified as their proposed new route from Holland Park to the Embankment should help to remove congestion at this point. Conditions will also be improved by the planned widening of West Cromwell Road between Earls Court Road and Warwick Road. Traffic management measures are meanwhile being employed to reduce delays.
