§ Mr. George Cunninghamasked the Prime Minister if he will terminate the practice of denying information to the Members of Parliament concerned about advice given by civil servants to statutory 252W authorities on correspondence between these authorities and Members.
§ The Prime MinisterThere is no general practice of denying to Members of Parliament information about the advice given to statutory authorities. But where such advice is given on a confidential basis, it is not the practice to disclose it. I see no reason to change this long-standing practice.
