§ Mr. G. Johnson Smithasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what progress has been made in introducing catalytic afterburners for the control of exhaust fumes from vehicles; what urgency is being given to this matter by the motor manufacturers; and what plans he has for making such devices on cars mandatory.
