HC Deb 22 February 1971 vol 812 cc29-30W
Mr. Mason

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1) whether it remains the policy of his Department to impose upon all exporters a system of pre-entry recording of exports in spite of the opposition of the Association of Chambers of Commerce;

(2) whether he has finally decided the form of his pre-entry scheme for exports; and if he will state his intentions on this matter;

(3) what replies he has given to those organisations concerned with exports who have represented that his suggested pre-entry scheme for exports will result in many delays of the shipment of goods.

Mr. John Davies

The consultations I promised to hold about the pre-entry of exports are not yet complete. I will make a further statement as soon as possible.
