asked the Minister of State for Defence if he will give details of the employment of the Ulster Defence Regiment since its formation.

Copies of a report on the calling out of the force for the period 1st April to 31st December, 1970, have been placed in the Libraries of both Houses.

I will arrange for future similar reports to be made available at quarterly intervals while it continues to be necessary to call out the regiment for emergency service.
