§ Mr. Peter ThomasMy right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for Education and Science, and I have now issued general guidance on this question. It is our view that where facilities are provided for school children to eat sandwich lunches, authorities and schools should not in present circumstances impose a charge for their use. The position may have to be reviewed in the light of the future experience of authorities and schools in this connection.
