§ Mr. CarlisleAll five probation and after-care areas in Lancashire have had to appoint untrained persons as probation officers in recent months. But Lancashire should benefit from the increased number of probation students likely to complete their training in the course of 1971 and from new courses in Liverpool and Manchester starting this year.
