asked the Secretary of State for Wales under what procedures he consults with voluntary and statutory bodies in Wales on the subject of environmental pollution.

There is no prescribed procedure. I consult with the appropriate bodies whenever I consider it necessary.

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what Government and Government-assisted machinery exists in Wales for the study of environmental pollution.

Mr. Peter Thomas

The Welsh Office has an overall responsibility, and the resources of all the Government laboratories concerned with pollution problems are available for the study of any special problem in Wales.
