asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if British private industry will continue to be allowed to make independent approaches to European capital markets after entry into the European Economic Community under the terms of the Treaty of Rome.

There is nothing in the Treaty of Rome or in the directives so far issued which alters the present position.
