HC Deb 08 February 1971 vol 811 c41W
Mr. Golding

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services, (1) whether he will state what progress has been made towards the implementation of Section 11 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act, 1970, which provides for the representation of the chronically sick and disabled on the National Insurance Advisory Committee;

(2) whether he will state what progress has been made towards the implementation of Section 12 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act, 1970, which provides for representation of the chronically sick and disabled on the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council.

Mr. Dean

These advisory bodies already include members with experience of work among and of the needs of the chronically sick and disabled. When appointments are made, regard is had to the desirability of selecting a person who is himself chronically sick or disabled.
