HC Deb 04 February 1971 vol 810 cc420-1W
Pardoe

56 and 57. Mr. asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) on what date she expects to announce the setting up of the Teachers' Council; and if she will make a statement;

(2) what steps she has taken to implement the report of the working party on the Teachers' Council; how many of the relevant bodies have submitted their views on this report to her; and how many have yet to do so.

Mrs. Thatcher

The Department has consulted the teachers' associations and other interested bodies on the proposals in the working party's report. Twenty-seven have, and two have not yet, replied. It would be unwise for me to take decisions until I have all the replies.
