asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the present extent of part-time education in primary and secondary schools, respectively; and which areas are affected.

In January the numbers of pupils on part-time education were:

Information for 1964 is not available. In March, 1965, 4,262 primary pupils in Scotland were receiving part-time education, of whom 4,160 were in Glasgow. The corresponding figures for January, 1971, were 1,708 and 1,544.
